Turkey Tour - Antalya

The trip from our home stay village to Antalya took about 5 hours, and took us past lakes and through some beautiful mountainous areas.

The land outside Antalya seems very fertile, and there are hundreds or possibly thousands of hangar style greenhouse shade structures covering commercial gardens. Strangely, many seem empty, maybe between crops. There are lots of vegetable market stalls along the roadside. Išik explained later that years ago farming was the main industry of the area, and very profitable. Sons would inherit the valuable farming land, and daughters would inherit the less valuable beachside villa. Today tourism is the most important industry. Girl power!

We did a short orientation walk around. We are staying in the old walled city, pedestrian area. Lex and I had lunch on a high cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the harbour, watching boats go in and out, wondering if any are like the one we will spend tomorrow night on. Time will tell. We've been told it is a 2 story boat, and we'll sleep on the upper deck. ;-)

Seafood for dinner last night of course, on a cliff top restaurant.

How about this - Jumbo Shrimp! 250g apparently. Delicious!

Lex sea bass. Also Delicious.

This is a rough guide to our tour. We are about half way. One week to go.
